Cerro Huyliche

Within the Estancia we drive 4x4 vehicles to Mount Huyliche, 10 minutes away from El Calafate, to access El Calafate Balconies, reaching a height of 900 meters.

From the panoramic lookout point we can see the Argentino Lake, the El Calafate city, Mounts Fitz Roy and Torre, and the accumulation zone of the Perito Moreno Glacier.

We walk across a rock formation site of the Cretaceous period. We can find wood chips, shark teeth, and fossilized oysters that evidence the past level of the sea.

The lookout points and stops along the road make it perfect to take pictures and enjoy the view of condors, eagles and foxes. Then, we stop at the "outpost" for lunch or afternoon snack, countryside style.

Before reaching he outpost, we make a 20-minute walk among rocks and mountain vegetation until we reach the shelter with the Moyano valley views.

Time and service included

10 am to 1:30 pm: lunch included. Sandwich of steak cooked on plow disk with vegetables, with wine, water and soft drinks.
3 to 6 pm: snack included. Mate with cookies, tea or coffee.
From November to April there is a 6-9 pm service, and the half afternoon one is 2:30-5:30 pm.

Capacity and additional service
Vehicles accommodate eight passengers. We offer mountain bike or hiking descents. This additional service requires a minimum of 2 people and includes an qualified guide.

Mountain bike is booked 24 hours in advance, detailing the passengers' height in order to get the proper bike for them.

In addition, the following information is required for insurance purposes: identity document or passport number, date of birth, and nationality.
