El Calafate - Upsala Glacier

Estancia Cristina: Fossil Ravine

We walk along a landscape that until recently was covered by glaciers and has a great geological interest. Extraordinary views of the eastern face of the Upsala Glacier, Guillermo Lake, southern Patagonian ice, and the Andes Mountains.

Duration: 5.30 hours
Grade slope: 550 masl.
Difficulty level: moderate-difficult.
Good fitness is recommended.

We embark and set sail at the Punta Bandera pier (National Parks Administration) at 8 am, in a modern and comfortable boat.
We sail among icebergs and imposing landscapes with views of the west face of the Upsala Glacier and we turn up the Cristina Channel until reaching the disembarking point at Estancia Cristina.
We arrive at the Estancia Cristina at 11 am.
We stay in the Estancia for 6 hours.
We ascend in 4x4 vehicles along 9.5 km of mountain road.

Extraordinary views of the eastern face of the Upsala Glacier, Guillermo Lake, southern Patagonian ice, and the Andes Mountains.
We descend searching for the fossil ravine, a marine fossil deposit. A valley of unique features within the park.
Minimum age: 12 years, accompanied by their parents
People who choose this activity will have lunch during the excursion and return to the Estancia to board the boat at 5 pm.
Arrival at Puerto Bandera is at about 7 pm.
